Festivitas Artium is an organiser of festivals, concerts as well as advanced and regular study courses. Our object is research in and propagation of early European and traditional Eastern culture.
Tartu Early Music Festival has been held every year starting 1996. The Festival has since its beginning concentrated on early European, primarily Medieval culture and its relations to Oriental cultures. Tartu Early Music Festival is an interdisciplinary event bringing together concerts, performances, exhibitions, lectures, study sessions and master classes. Among other things, it has always featured the Festival Club with its distinctive ambience.
Concerts. Throughout the year, Festivitas Artium organises concerts of early and Oriental music. The concert themes fit into the familiar mould that has already inspired the FA Classics and Cathedral Music concert series as well as the Morgenstern Music Lounge and the Tartu Early Music Festival.
The Centre of Early Music Festivitas Artium Schola is founded in collaboration between the University of Tartu and Festivitas Artium in January 2000. FA Schola's purpose lies in researching, comparing and propagating through music the traditional European and Oriental medieval cultures. Members of the ensemble organised at the Centre also teach a variety of musical instruments.
