Laterna Magica

Laterna Magica was founded at the end of 1997 with former musicians of ĢGreen Sleevesģ and some young performers, graduates of the St-Petersburg Conservatoire, students the St-Petersburg Academy of Culture and the St-Petersburg University. The ensemble focuses on performing medieval and folk music of Europe, though they have experience in performing Baroque, Renaissance and folk music of the Orient.

The ensemble is leading an active concert life in St-Petersburg (playing at different institutes, music schools and clubs as well as at the Museum of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, the St-Petersburg Union of Composers), they have also played in Helsinki, Prague and Krakow.
